We are the volunteers who do the work that keeps this successful netball club afloat.

I’m sure you all have connections with clubs be they sporting, social, art or otherwise. Clubs remain an incredibly vital part of our social fabric and our vision at Winston Hills netball is to strive for continued active participation in netball across all ages. It’s not about winning it’s about participation and the obvious key ingredient fun!

So what do we do?

·         We communicate decisions, rule changes, association requirements and results to everyone in the club

·         We collect the funds and disperse the funds

·         We manage the website content

·         We co-ordinate umpires

·         We grade players and recommend grades to BHSNA

·         We allocate players to teams and communicate this information to coaches

·         We appoint and train coaches

·         We train umpires

·         We collate legislative requirements

·         We award trophies

·         We carry out all administrative functions for the club

·         We ensure that all teams have adequate equipment

·         We organise the club uniforms

·         We represent the club’s interests at BHSNA meetings

And how do we do it?

At times I really wonder but we have a group of dedicated individuals who just keep working both during the season and in between.

Do we get it all right?

Does anyone? But you have our commitment to be transparent and to explain our rationale. You may not always agree but you can be assured that every decision is made with the best intentions.

Do we need more help?

Absolutely. I encourage everyone to come to a meeting (they are all open to anyone) or give one of the committee a ring or come and talk to us at the world famous gazebo or just send us an email. We hunger for

your feedback. It will be taken seriously. We have attached contact details for the Committee for your reference.

We currently have vital positions unfilled. We need coaches, an umpiring convener, a trophy committee and others. These jobs can be shared. You don’t have to give up your life to it and as the saying goes, more hands make lighter work.

Above all please remember that we are all volunteers, we all lead busy lives outside of netball so would really appreciate you considering this before criticizing decisions. It is much preferred that you come to us with your suggestions and your will to help.
